Death Horizon Chapter 1-Chaos

1 Chaos
18 May 2011, Monday
7.45- London, United Kingdom.

“Wake up, sunshine. You’re going to be late for school again.” Mrs.Kyle (Sarah) woke her daughter up, Allie Kyle. It was a bright morning with those birds chirping in their nest. Like a morning that nothing bad would happen. But the Kyle’s did not know what will happen that day.

“Come on mom. I’m sleepy and tired right now. Wake Alex up first then me.” Allie murmured. Mrs.Kyle just stood there, rolling her light blue eyes.

“I did wake him up and guess what? Your sleepy head twin woke up early than you. Yeah, early after I woke him up. He’s down there, eating his cereal.” Allie jumped up from her bed and ran to the bathroom. That’s Allie. She doesn't like Alex to overcome her. She would do anything just to make herself not being defeated by her own brother.

Mrs.Kyle went down to the living room. Alex looked up at her. “Mom, where’s Allie? I’m going to be late for my school.” Alex is really, extremely different from Allie. He is a quiet boy who doesn’t have feeling and always ignore when people said something to him, even it is important.

“I woke her up. She’s taking her bath now. You know, your sister, she doesn’t like when you overcome her.” Alex just kept quiet. He poured some tea in his cup and started to drink it.

“Hello, world! What a good morning we have here. Sorry, I’m late Alex.” Allie smiled while poking her twin brother. “Mom, I’m coming home late today. Alright?” she said. Alex looked at her, she looked at him. “What?” he shooked his head and got up from his seat. Mrs.Kyle switched on the mini television that had been for years in their kitchen.

As usual, the morning news channel would be opened. “Everything is just the same mom. There’s nothing different, you know. Come on mom, send us to school now. We’re going to be late.” Alex switched off the television. Mrs.Kyle looked at Allie with a face- That guy, is totally different. Allie laughed. “Let’s go mom. He’s right. You go first; I need to get my asthma medicine first. Well, in cast if I was attack by asthma at school.”

            “Okay, honey. Please be fast.”

It was 8.30 when they arrived at school which is 10 minutes more before the school started. But the thing that was different that, there was nobody was at school. “Mom, there’s nobody.” Mrs.Kyle looked out from her car window. She went out from her car and stood beside her twins. ‘Weird’. That was all she said when a policeman came to them.

“What are you guys, doing here? Haven’t you heard the news? All the schools in this area will be closed for a while.” Mrs.Kyle looked at the policeman.

“Why are the schools close? I didn't watch the news this morning. Well, I watched it but just part of it.” She gave a glance at Alex who switched off the television. He looked away.

“I can’t say anything. Please, back to your home and stay inside your house, never ever went out until we asked you so.” He said and went away with his bike.” And those three just stand there like three innocent humans who don’t know that their planet was taken by the aliens.

“Get into the car, my twins. I’m afraid if there something dangerous or bad is happening.” Mrs.Kyle said. The twins went inside their mother’s car. Mrs.Kyle drove her car like normal. They almost got hit by a car which was drove at a high speed.

They went past a supermarket where lots of people were pushing carts with lots of food, water, medicine and some other things. They all ran like a crazy person, searching for food, kinda. “Mom, what is happening? Why are there running with those full carts?” Allie asked. She looked scared and was about to cry.

“Alex, watch Allie. Give to her, her medicine if she gets attack by asthma. I’m going to check out what is happening. Lock the door.” Alex nodded. Mrs.Kyle went out. The thing got more scary went, some of the people keep shouting, ‘WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE!’ Mrs.Kyle shivered a little. Suddenly, someone tapped her from the back. She looked back and what a relief it was just Mrs.Hopkins. Mrs.Hopkins is one of her friends. “Oh my, it was you. I thought a stranger trying to rob me. Lena, what is happening here? Is there something that I did not know?”

Lena (Mrs.Hopkins) looked so terrified. “Sarah, how can I say this thing to you?” Mrs.Kyle raised her eyebrows. “There is a disease spreading through this country now. It turned you into something scary. The news said that, we need to be careful because they believed that, it might spread until here, in London. So that was the reason why those people were pushing carts full of food and water, medicine too.”

                  "What kind of disease?”

"I don’t know but that guy in that news said that, a new type of disease. Ask Ben (Mrs.Kyle’s husband), he maybe know about this. He’s a doctor right? Goodbye, Sarah. Hope you get to meet again after all this thing is over.” Lena walked away from Mrs.Kyle.

Mrs.Kyle took her phone out from her pocket and dialed ben’s number. It took a several minutes before he answered it.

-Ben, is it true some kind of a new disease just spread through this country? Lena just told me. Say something. I’m so afraid right now.-

~Yes. I’m coming back home right now~

-What?! I’m confused-

~I’ll explain to you later when I get home. Listen; don’t go out from our house. Stay there. Lock your house. ~

-But what about the food for this disaster?-

-Don’t go anywhere except our house, okay?! Close……~

The signal broke just like that. “Mom looked in front of you.” Mrs.Kyle looked up and, a woman was bleeding, her face was bleeding.  -Aargh! - Mrs.Kyle screamed. The woman suddenly fell down right on her feet. Alex pulled her. She was shivering. The woman suddenly, screams out loud. Her eyes turned to red. Her hair turns to black. And she kept murmuring –Kill, Kill- She got up and ran away while screaming like a mad person and the word, kill keep went out from her mouth. Everybody was just like, -what the…-

Mrs.Kyle and Alex ran to the car. She started her engine and drove fast. “What did they told you mom?” Allie said. She looked out from the window and saw the woman. And now, the woman was chasing a blonde hair girl. She looked like she wanted to kill that girl but she didn't and blood kept running down from her mouth. “Mom, what is wrong with that woman? She is covered with blood.” Mrs.Kyle didn't answer her. She just kept quiet.

“Mom, Allie asked you. Answer her. Share something with us.” Alex said but Mrs.Kyle didn't even answer his question. There’s something more that she needs to be worry. She can’t believe of what she had seen.

In the city of London, people running around, trying to save their lives. Blood covered the road, people screaming, asking for helps, cars hitting each other. Three of them just watched outside from their car window. Allie started to cry. “What is this? What is happening?” Alex hugged her, trying to calm her down.

"We’re going home right now. We need to lock our doors and stay at home.” At last, Mrs.Kyle spoke just like her children wanted her to. She drove her car like mad.

The atmosphere in London suddenly changed. No laughing, no smiling. All you could hear was screaming, shouting and crying. The same things happened at those persons. Fell down, murmuring –Kill, Kill-, mouth full of thick blood and chasing people without reasons. They’re not killing; they’re just wanted to scare them. That’s what Mrs.Kyle saw.

‘What on earth is happening?’ That’s all she could say.
