Death Horizon Chapter 3- Away

3 Away

5.00 p.m. - London, United Kingdom

The Kyle’s and Caroline went inside the car after they finished packing all the necessary things. “We can’t take the main road. It’s too dangerous. I’m afraid if we get contagious too.” Mr. Ben said.

                      “I want to go check out my mother and father. Please stop at my house.” Caroline said. Her face was hoping for Mrs. Kyle and Mr. Ben to let her but luck was not on her side they didn’t let her too.

                      

                       “Caroline, I’m sure your mom and dad are safe. We’re going to find cure for them okay. There’s nothing to be worry about.” Mrs. Kyle said. Caroline looked away, she looked out the window and wandered, is there any chances for them to safe? But she need to be strong, she need to believe that everything’s will be safe just like she wanted it to be.

They arrived at the highway half an hour later. Lots of the car burned because of accidents that had happened hours before. They didn’t see any sign of the contagious persons. Weird, right? Maybe some of them travel to the big city. That’s what Alex thought.

                       

                          “I can’t breathe. Can’t breathe.” Allie suddenly said. She tried to inhale and exhale carefully but it didn’t work either. Alex got up and crawled to the back of the car and took Allie’s medicine. Allie had suffered with asthma since she was five years old. It’s not a normal asthma you had seen before. She had a terrible one, the one that can make her die.

                     

                             Alex helped Allie to eat her medicine. “Feeling better?” Mr. Ben asked Allie. Allie nodded. She rested her head on Alex’s shoulder. Alex took a blanket that they brought from back home and covered Allie with it as the weather started to be colder. Caroline screamed and pointed out.

                     

                            Mr. Ben almost hit the light pole when Caroline screamed. “Why are you screaming like that?!” Alex shouted at Caroline. She pointed out again, the exact same spot, she had pointed before.

                     

                         They looked outside except Allie who was so tired. They saw something moving from behind of the bushes. Mr. Ben looked more closely. “Oh My. Everybody kept quiet. That’s a high level contagious person. It can attack us and killed us.”

                    

                            “Like a zombie?” Alex asked. Mrs. Kyle narrowed her eyes to Alex. It is not a time to talk about something that never even exists in this world.

                         

                            Mr. Ben’s phone ringed. ‘Oh no. Not now, Jeremy.’ He didn’t answer it but then a voice mail came.

                    

                           -Ben, you need to get to the airport now. Please be fast. The last plane is at 7.00 a.m. the next morning. It will take you to France. - Then the voicemail ended.

                    

                           “Mr. Ben, we need to move right now! That thing, it’s running towards us!” Caroline shouted. The high level human contagious was running towards their car. Mr. Ben pushed the car pedal and drove his car at a high speed. Caroline was screaming and Alex was sweating.

                   

                            “I don’t want to die! There are lots of things I need to do more!” Alex screamed. Mr. Ben drove away from that thing.

                 

                           It took some meters so that they could get away from ‘the thing’.  They exhaled after some few minutes unbelievable things happened. “I can’t believe we’re still alive!” The panicked Alex felt better than before.

                  

                            “We’re safe, Alex because we’re in the car. Now, let’s move. We need to get to the airport before seven o’clock the next morning.”

                      

                              They’re away from their house and away from helps. Hoping everything will be safe. What will happen to them? Will they get to the airport on time?”
