10.00 a.m. - London, United Kingdom

When they entered their street everything was so quiet. Mrs.Kyle kept driving to her house. Allie looked out. She saw a girl was watching them from her bedroom window but her father asked her to stay away. ‘These people are really scared that something might happen to them. What a good precaution, they acted fast.’ But for Allie, her family didn’t acted that fast. If they heard the news, they should be in their house right now, safe with all those walls protecting them.

           

               “Come on. We can’t just stay in this car like forever. We need to stay in the house where everything is safe.” Mrs.Kyle said. They went inside their house and everything was still the same like the last time they were in their house, home sweet home.

          

                “What do we do now?” Alex asked Mrs.Kyle while Allie locked the door shut.

          

                  “Wait for your father. But we need to do something. We can’t just stand here without doing anything.” Mrs.Kyle said. Her face looked so serious but at the same time, she tried to be calm.

           

                   Allie sat on the sofa. She took out her phone and dialed her best friend number, Caroline. At first Caroline didn’t answer but she picked up her phone at the second time.

-Allie! Where are you?-

-Hey, I’m at my house now. What about you?-

-I’m at my house. Do you know what had happened? I watched news and they told that, London 

had been attack by that disease. I’m so lucky; I didn’t go to school-

-I don’t know. My mom doesn’t even want to tell me, you know? But it’s pretty scary. I thought there was school today. So I went to school but there’s nobody there. Then, we stopped at the supermarket and guess what?-

-WHAT? It must be something cool, am I right? - Caroline asked excitedly. She can’t wait to know what had happened.

-I saw a woman bleeding, her eyes were red and she was chasing a girl. And the weird thing is, she just chasing the girl but she didn’t do anything to her. Is that cool to you?-

-My answer is, yes. Yes it is, cool-

         

              Allie was about to say something to Caroline when she heard a scream from her phone and just like that, the signal broke again.

          

              “What had happened?” Alex asked. He walked to Allie. Allie was standing there, she’s knocking her phone trying to get the signal back but there was no use. “Come on. Mom’s signal broke too. What are you worried about? I’m sure Caroline will call you back later.”

           

                Allie shook her head. Then, they heard a knock from the front door. “Get me in! Get me in!” Someone or something was shouting, asking them to open their front door.

         

                 Allie looked at Alex. Mrs.Kyle shouted back. “Who are you?! What do you want?!” There was a silence for a while. Then, the voice came back again.

          

                “Mrs.Kyle, it’s me, Caroline! It’s Allie’s friend!” Allie opened the door. It’s Caroline, she was sweating hard. “I… I… I just saw something. Something that is really scary.”

           

                 “What about you calm yourself first and then you tell us what had happened. Is that alright?” Mrs.Kyle said. Caroline just nodded.

           

                 The door was knocked again and this time Alex was so angry he could shout and he shouted. “Can you just go away from our house and live us here all alone?!” He shouted at the top of his voice. Caroline looked at Alex. She felt annoyed on what he had said. Then, he stomped his feet on the floor like a three years old kid. He can’t take it anymore. The screaming, shouting, crying and knocking made him feel a little bit annoyed. And if this thing would last forever, he would die of stresses.

               

                Allie rolled her eyes. She understood Alex. He’s not the kind of boy who can stand all this things. “Well, dad, you can just open the door it’s not lock.” She said. Then, the door cracked open and it was Mr. Ben. The way that the door was knocked, Allie knew that it was her father.

                                       

                “Hello, my family and please don’t shout like that anymore Alex or I’ll take all your Play Stations.” Alex covered his mouth. Duh, who want to play Play Stations in the middle of a stress condition right now? Weird Alex.

                

               “Tell us more about what had happened dad.” Allie said. She really wanted to know about what had happened but her mom kept keeping her away from knowing the truth.

               

                All the five of them suddenly became serious. “Listen, this is not a normal disease. You can turn into that monster within a second. So, the only thing we need to do is…” 

               

                “Protect yourself from those monsters?” Allie interrupted. Mr. Ben nodded. “And then what?”

                

                 “We need to go away from this city. London just gets attacked by this disease. It spread fast than I thought it would. I saw all those things when I came here alone.” He mimicked his voice a little.

                

                 "Please be serious, dad.” Alex said. “How did this disease came? Where does it come from?”

                

                  “Unknown. We found nothing about this kind of disease. But it started from New Zealand. But it would not kill people. People can become crazy and lost their mind but the only problem is, they could kill their own self.”

                

                     “What do you mean? You think a crazy person could kill his or her own self?”

              

                      “Yeah, of course they can. You never see an insane person trying to kill their own self?” Allie said to Alex.

                 “Yeah, I’ve seen it before. But how they could kill their own self when they are crazy?” Alex asked.

                 “Dude, our brain has that kind of things, like wires. That’s how brain worked; our brains are like the ants working and if it got too frustrated, the wires snap and we can’t control our brains. And then, we lost control and we can’t think about anything anymore. We lost our mind, become crazy and kill our own self. Am I right, dad?”

                   “You’re more than right, Allie. Now, all we need to do for now is pack all the food and waters and your medicine too, Allie because we’re going out from London.”

                   Caroline was getting better and calmer than before. “What about me? My mom and dad just turned into that thing. Is there any chances to save them?”

                    Mr. Ben looked at Caroline. He smiled a little bit. “You can follow us because the situations in London are just as worse in New Zealand right now.” Caroline didn’t looked away but instead she still had her eyes on him. “Yes, we can save them after we find the cure.”

                   After everything’s got a little bit normal, they started to work together. Alex and Allie packed up the food and waters. There were 30 cans of tuna, 3 loaves of bread, 20 bottles of mineral water and some fruits. Lucky for them, they had so many food but will it be enough for them?

                   Caroline helped Mrs. Kyle to pack up Allie’s medicine and some clothes in case of emergencies. Mrs. Ben was checking the van condition.

                  Far away from their house, the city of London was full with all the insane humans. Blood covered the roads and shops. No one was safe there and that’s for sure. And fears overwhelmed five of them.
